Not the first time media has been the center of controversy

Like many people across the globe, I go about my day doing things that I enjoy  and things that I must do in order to continue doing the things that I enjoy.  For most of my life I have trusted that our elected leaders are handling business and keeping us safe.  I dared to think that they might give a damn about the country and about the citizens living in it and paying for their luxurious lifestyles.  

In other words, I became complacent regarding my own role and responsibilities required for  the success of this nation.   A nation's success begins with strong communities with strong values. Even though there remains only a shadow of that strong community and relationship ideology across the red states, compare this to those absolutely chaotic, downright dangerous, deep blue, metropolitan areas with little to no community values.  Time to get back to community building and generational mentorship and sharing of ideas and history in rural America. 

Mainstream media has been looked at as one of the checks and balances of government, not only in the US, but across the planet.  Now we are seeing that instead of bringing us the oversight they were intended to, they are weaponizing themselves as a voice against citizens.  They actively hide the corrupt and give voice instead to the very entities they are supposed to be keeping in check.  Instead of crying foul on censorship, they are leading the charge FOR censorship of anyone or any organization that does not fall in line with them.  (Look at who owns these media places and you will understand why this is happening.)

Not only is main stream media actively working against citizens and colluding with the very people and organizations they are supposed to be the watchdog against, they are actively working on revising history.  They censor and revise and twist information.  Sounds incredulous, doesn't it?  Here is a reddit stream that has taken notice of some online revisionism and censorship.  Don't just read it and take their word for it, actually google the words they are talking about.  Then look for another search engine to use, like DuckDuckGo, Firefox, etc.  Be sure to double check them by doing these same searches and others that you expect to find solid info on and see if it has been revised in any way.  And continue doing your own oversight of these companies to make sure they are not following suit in the future.

​As the title of this post states, this is not the first time this bastardization and corruption of the media has happened.    Regardless of which side of the political isle you are on, the idea that media can be owned and operated by those that can afford the billions to procure them, should be concerning.  And that governments today are shutting down the internet, phone systems, and media across entire countries, should strike fear and anger in the hearts of people worldwide.
